Hotel Jupiter--Praira da Rocha, Algarve
High St Agent--October 1989

Spacious hotel, no adaptions. Footpaths in resort were very poor, beach just across the road reached by
steep tarmac ramp, you can get a wheelchair down with some good help, wooden boards take you across
the sand.

Private Villa--Santa Barbara,near Faro Algarve
Found on the Internet--July 2000
Submitted June 2001 Client - gylm -- Scotland
The villa itself is located on the outskirts of Santa Barbara de Nexe, a small village near Almancil, built on the
hillside behind an acre of walled garden and gates. Inside, the villa is extremely spacious, a wheelchair user’s
dream with wide doors and enormous rooms, tiled floors throughout. The downstairs accommodation comprises
a well equipped kitchen (the maid, Maria, will leave a few provisions to get you started), a huge lounge/dining
room overlooking the barbeque and patio area, a toilet, and 2 bedrooms both overlooking a private swmming
pool. Unfortunately, there are steps from the bedrooms down to the pool, but ramps have been built right around
the house allowing easy access. I found both of the downstairs bathrooms to be perfectly usable.
there are a couple of supermarkets nearby which are accessible.
Locations of these are on the information sheets provided by the owners. However, take the opportunity to eat
out and experience some Portuguese cooking. There is a large number of restaurants near by so you need never
be stuck for choice. Try the Portuguese local speciality of chicken piri-piri at Signor Frango in Almancil, or for a
rather special eating experience, Casa do Campo also in Almancil.

Hotel Emmets Ville - Portugal
Booked this myself-2000

Emmets Ville is very accessible whilst in the hotel. You would need a car if you wanted to travel around. We didn't have transport but the owner of the hotel will take you and pick you up from your destination. Villamoura is about 20 mins or so away and is accessible, so is Quarteria. Vale de Lobo is a few minutes by car and is accessible for wheelchairs.
The hotel does excellent food and they also take you to local restaurants in the evenings. The pool has a hoist.
As I did mention, it is very informal so you would be disappointed if you expected anything less than very very friendly!
