Lift in this hotel was just big enough for my wheelchair, the food was not very good. Outside
the hotel things were reasonably priced, the resort was fairly flat, just one hill to go to the other side of the bay,
but also the same to come back.

We had to have the door removed so that I could get in the bathroom, this is normal
procedure, very very limited space in bathroom. The lift to this hotel was only just big enough to get my wheelchair in, the meals
were nothing to write home about. The resort is flat around the hotel then you can go up a
short steep rise to get to the other side of the resort where it is mainly flat again.

This 4 star hotel has no disabled ramp into the hotel. There are about 9 steps up with no handrails near the top and the door opens automatically so a disabled person could fall.
There is no help from the staff.
The lift is small but can accomadate a normal wheelchair.
The swimming pool is not ideal for a person with limited mobility to enter. No handrails. The door to the pool area is not automatic and at one end of the terrace is steps.
The surrounding areas outside the hotel and in the resort and Bugibba are defineately not disabled friendly.
The kerbs are very high with very few lowered kerb stones.
During the stay, i had to wheel my mother in the wheelchair on the road which is a little dangerous.
public transport in Malta is not equipped for disabled, as is some of the tourist sites.
Most shops and restaurants have steps going up into them. Very few ramps.
Although Malta is a lovely place, it is not ideal to take a wheelchair bound person.
Also lack of wheelchair hire and lack of disabled electric scooters for hire. I was informed by the MS of malta that there was only one scooter available for hire on the whole island.
